Make a container to hold your sad 

I been working with the dearest little boy who is processing a depth of grief like no other. So, we talked. We played a game. We practiced TRE. 

Then we made a container to hold his sad. 

We decorated a solo cup with markers & construction paper. We covered the top with painters tape so the sad can’t escape once it’s placed inside. The belief is that, if there is a safe place to keep his sadness, he won’t have to carry it all inside of him. ? 

I’m hoping to lighten his load. Carrying so much sad every day must be a terrible burden to bear.
