The GMH book for January 2017 is The Road Less Traveled by M. Scott Peck, M.D.
Dr. M. Scott Peck is a psychiatrist who, blending psychological and spiritual insight, sheds light on the underlying causes of mental illness, neuroses, relationship problems and parenting issues. By facing our problems, versus running away from them, not only can we avoid common psychological pitfalls, we nurture the evolution of our spirit: our very reason for incarnating into human form.
Offering tools to constructively “feel the pain” of our problems instead of destructively avoiding them through maladaptive behaviors like addictions and neuroses, he suggests delaying gratification, accepting responsibility, remaining dedicated to the truth, and finding balance.
Throughout the month of January, we will be posting quotes and discussion questions from the book over on our Facebook and Instagram pages, with a round up here every Friday.
